volt, pre-assembled, plug-in, self-regulating heater cable for
smaller residential and commercial metal and plastic pipe freeze
protection and roof/gutter de-icing. Waterproof and designed for
pipes up to 2 1/2” in diameter. Comes with a 30” cold
lead and 3-prong grounded plug.
Easy
to use and install – just attach to the pipe, insulate, and
plug in. Ideal for intake and drain lines, outdoor pipes and
taps, water meters, and pipes in unheated attics, basements, and
garages.
**The
NEC (National Electric Codes) requires the use of ground fault
protection with all heater cable applications. A GFCI
(ground-fault circuit interrupter) Plug-In Adapter converts an
existing unprotected duplex receptacle to a GFCI-protected
receptacle. This
GFCI
Plug-In Adapter
is recommended for the pre-assembeld plug-in heater cable to
conform with NEC code and prevent nuisance tripping. If you are
not using a GFCI Adapter, the receptacle should be powered from a
30mA GFEPD type branch breaker.**
